About Maura
Maura is a mother, community organizer, activist, and educator who lives in Batavia with her husband and their three children. As a founding member of Kane and Kendall County Moms Demand Action; her belief in common sense gun legislation and safety has driven Maura to pursue change at the local, state, and federal level. Her commitments to education, advocacy, and community service led Maura to run for office. Maura has served as the Representative to the 49th district since 2021. She sits on several education themed committees, the Energy and Environment committee, Housing, and Health and Human Services committees. Maura is an appointed member of the bicameral and bipartisan Medicaid Working Group, and the treasurer of the House Democratic Women's Caucus.
